Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about booking, quoting, and getting paid on FixIt.
For homeowners
Describe your problem in the chat on your dashboard, and add photos if you can. FixIt AI asks a few follow-up questions, then either walks you through safe DIY steps for free or, if the issue needs a professional, turns the conversation into a ready-to-send job request.
Posting a request and receiving quotes is completely free. You only pay once you accept a quote and the job is confirmed complete.
Only after the work is done. The professional marks the job finished, you check it, and then you pay by card inside FixIt. Nothing is charged before that. FixIt keeps its commission and passes the rest on to the professional.
FixIt's service fee is 3% of the professional's price, at most CHF 15.00 per job, and it is always included in the total you see. It pays for FixIt: you pay only after the work is done, your money is held if there is a problem, and the AI help is free.
No. Pros only see an approximate area (like your city or postcode) while quoting. Your exact address is shared only with the professional you actually book, and with any approved professional they bring in to help. You are emailed if that happens.
Report it from the booking page before you pay. Payment is paused while the report is open, FixIt and the professional are both emailed straight away, and FixIt looks at both sides of the story before anything is charged.
Yes, either side can cancel a booking before the professional starts the job. Once work is marked in progress, cancellation isn't available; report a problem from the booking page instead.
For professionals
Complete your profile with your categories, a bio, and upload your trade licence, insurance, and ID. FixIt reads the documents personally before approving you. It is one person, so it can take a few days.
Launch price: 5% commission, rising to 8% once FixIt brings you regular work. You will get at least 30 days' notice by email. The commission comes out of your price; the homeowner's service fee does not. The quote form shows your exact payout before you send.
When the homeowner confirms the job is complete and pays in-app, your share is recorded on your Earnings page and FixIt transfers it to your bank account. Payouts are made by hand for now, so allow a few working days.
Yes. Your job feed only shows requests matching the categories on your profile, and you can filter further by keyword, timing, or emergency-only.
Homeowners can mark urgent issues (active leaks, no power, gas smells) as emergencies. These are sorted to the top of the job feed so you can respond fast.
What “Top pro” means
The badge is earned from the record on FixIt. Nobody can pay for it, and FixIt does not hand it out. A professional has it while all of these are true:
- At least 5 jobs done and paid through FixIt
- At least 5 reviews, averaging 4.7 stars or more
- No more than 1 booking cancelled by them in the past year
- No problem reported against them in the past year, and none still open
It is checked again every time a page shows it, so it goes as soon as a rule stops being true.
Still need help?
Write to us and a real person answers. FixIt is run by one person in its first months, so please allow a day or two.
